Reflection on studying abroad
I always had a dream of studying abroad – this was my first time participating in an overseas music summer festival. I was surprised by the high degree of freedom in other participants’ musical expressions, perhaps it is because everyone has their own individuality and is confident.
Until then, I tended to care about other people’s opinions, whether I should play a certain way or is it weird if I play a certain way. But it seemed that everyone was positive in the US – there was an atmosphere of accepting individual voices. I started realizing many possibilities in musical expressions.
